We got our final occupancy permit.  We're official!  Yeah!!!
I apologize for the lack of updates.  The PC is still in the wrong room, but we're getting closer!  I'm also trying to decide if I'll continue posting to the site, because it will basically just become my blog then.  There are many other easier blog interfaces out there, so I may just switch to one of those.  This website was about building the dream house, but maybe it'll just evolve into our lives in the dream house.  Blogs in general are narcissistic, and I realize this whole site is fairly narcissistic, but people can choose to read it or not.  It was also about a specific process and documenting that process.  I enjoy writing about the stuff that happens, and trying to get across the feel the event.  I'll keep thinking about it....
Mark's TV showed up several weeks ago.  Much like the house, the TV is embarrassingly large.  It's huge!  It's enormous!  It's a 61" TV!!!!!  Mark built a temporary media center/frame for it.  And it does have a fantastic picture.  And I do reap the benefits of it.  But, I'm glad we I have the option of closing the door (like Mark would even do that!).
As a temporary solution (aka 'we have to have house numbers to pass final inspection) we put some house numbers on the monument rock.  Looks pretty good for only a temporary fix.
Mom & Dad came home for month after Kinsey was born, and Dad stayed with us.  Something about it being 'quieter' and having 'better food.'  Seeing that we don't have 1) a baby, 2) a 2 1/2-yr-old, 3) a 5-yr old, 4) two large dogs, he's probably right.
Work on the condo continues, slowly.  It's looking really good.  It'll make us a good profit, and someone else a nice home.
It's fun to watch the seasons come.  The trees are all budding.  We heard what we think was an owl the other night.  Our view will disappear a bit, but be replaced with beautiful foliage.
Have I mentioned that I love my washer and dryer.  If I start a load in each, the dryer will be done before the washer.  Imagine that!
Do you know how to get rid of woodpeckers?  We don't.  We have two that like our house.  They like to drum on the metal vents, at early times of the day.  Very annoying.  The pellet gun has been helping scare them away so far, but we're open to other suggestions
And yes, Mark did finally cut his hair.  He's back to not looking like a wild man.
I went to the Sewing & Stitchery show for three days early this month.  One of my goals was to learn more about sergers.  I used one in a hands-on class and really liked it, and was getting a really good price on the 'classroom model.'  I decided that I would be fiscally responsible and save the money.  Monday morning I went into work and found we'd gotten a surprise bonus.  The serger is now home with me where it belongs.  =]
Finish to do list:  235 done out of 302.  Slow, slow progress.  Something about "go earn some money!!!!!!!!!!  No one is paying you to work here anymore!!!!!!!!"
