You know how there are things that are synonymous with a parent? Well
these are my dad's tools. And the carpet he's installed. It looks
great.

Mark has started installing the hardwood floor on the main floor.
Loving it!

The bar top is finished, stained & antiqued (that' s Mark hitting it
with a chain). We wanted it to match the color of the floor. Not
bad, huh?

The cool warming shelves for the stove:

The final electrical inspection:

The overall view. Not too much different outside.

Some good progress!
Mark put down cement board in the entry. Then the tilers came: They did
the slate in the mud room/pantry/laundry, the tile trim in the kid bath, and the
fireplace hearth. You can also see more of the porcelain light switch
covers in the bathroom picture.

The evolution of the kitchen island. We still need to stain the bar
top to match the floor.

Mom & Dad are back for Thanksgiving and Dad has started on the rest of
the carpet.

The storage room with all the lights in it. No more dark, spooky
corners:

Miscellaneous stuff:
The bottom of the bar top - router-ed out for the big brace:

The range hood and backsplash:

Close-ups of the wheels for the big door, and the vintage wood Mark got to
mount it to. See the saw marks!

The cool ceramic switchplate covers:

Compact fluorescent + gravity = no good. =[

The nearly installed countertop, and the trimmed out island:

Mark went down to Chehalis to pick up our appliances. Our stove all
wrapped up:

Mark also picked up the door and all it's hardware. The wheels have a
patent date from 1890. The bar says "Lane Bros. Co Pokeepsie N.Y. May
7th 1889" it also says "Seattle Wash" So cool!

The steel support bar Mark had welded for the bar top, and the cut bar top.

The carpet in the master bedroom, and the beginnings of the vanity in the
spa. It's just waiting for the lovely white quartz.

The finished railing along the edge of the desk and patio.

The shower works! The sinks work!!

The finished deck:

The kitchen sink with the sexy faucet, and the new, smaller, bar sink.

The sink and toilet in the guest bath:

The wrong side of the bar top, and the thick, thick, countertop:
